Bella Flores

A Tribute To The Primera Kontrabida

There would be no protagonists if there are no antagonists. There would be no heroes and heroines if there are no villains. You cannot say one's a hero if there is no foe to fight.

And then there are people that can be more bad than the devil himself. Full of hate, anger and bad aura that gives suffering to the hero down to the last ounce of their hope.

And that's where our subject is excellent at. I know its too late but its better late than never. So here she is...

Remedios Papa Dancel
"Bella Flores"
1928 - 2013

Bella Flores, born in Manila, Philippines is known to be the Mother of all antagonists in the country's film and television industry. At age 14, she appeared in her first film, "Tatlong Balaraw". Her break came when she was casted as the cruel stepmother in the film "Roberta".

From then on she made life miserable to young actors and actresses. She won her FAMAS Best Supporting Actress in 1967 for the movie "Ang Kaibigan Kong Sto. Nino".

Flores died on May 19, 2013 due to complications from a hip surgery.

I hated Bella Flores ever since I saw her on TV. She was the epitome of an evil woman because she displayed ruthlessness to both children and adult. She was the she-devil on TV. I thought then that her character reflects the person in real life.

But as I grow old, I learned otherwise. Bella Flores was good and kind in person. She was also known to make people laugh even with her eyebrows raised and her arms crossed against her chest.

Nobody ever equaled her ferociousness and evilness up to this day and that's why I salute her in sharing her talent with us.

There can only be one Bella Flores and I know she's with her Creator now. Thank you for all the memories. To the Primera Kontrabida, rest in peace!

Kate Upton

Meteoric Model

Imagine you're a male, joining a simple "Staring Contest" wherein you'll win a million dollars if you don't wink at your opponent. Simple, right?

What if you're opponent is a sexy and beautiful model wearing her skimpy swimsuit? Would you dare to stare at her?

And while staring through her pretty eyes, she's smiling back at you. She begins to unravel her breasts and pulling down her bikini top. I'm sure you'll wink now. I know, I did.

This was the situation from a TV ad that was shared on my Facebook wall. Right there and then, I got struck by her awesomeness and appeal. I already featured some foreign beauties here like Vanessa Hudgens and Kristin Kreuk and for our next 9MM GIrl International...

Kate Upton

Katherine "Kate" Upton is an American model and actress. Born in Michigan but raised in Florida. Her break came when she appeared in 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. And then she never looked back.

She also appeared in the film "Tower Heist" and "The Three Stooges" aside from the TV shows she appeared on.

What makes Kate different from the other models is that she has this irresistible charm and appeal that mesmerizes men like me. Her beauty stands out with her natural blond hair, and tight and sexy body.

Her eyes are very expressive that's why I was unable to keep my glaring at her even if it was a video. She is really a bombshell.

Its a good thing that GOD created women like Kate Upton. Because if GOD didn't created women, it would really be a pain in the ass for us men. If you know what I mean.

Ray Manzarek

A Music Legend Tribute

The very first time I heard the music of The Doors, keyboards was overpowering the guitars. And I asked myself, what kind of a band are they? No bass guitar?!?

All the while, I thought bands are composed of drummers, guitarists and vocalists. Never have I wondered keyboards was also essential for a band. And that was how The Doors were unique from all other bands.

I haven't written about an article about my personal rock icon, Jim Morisson here and yet another of the said band's founding member had joined our Creator.

And this is my tribute to...

Raymond Daniel Manzarek, Jr.
1939 - 2013

Ray was the pioneer member and keyboardist of the band, The Doors. Born in Chicago, Illinois in February 12, 1939, he originally wanted to play basketball but after an ultimatum from his coach, he quit the team and concentrated on playing keyboards.

Manzarek met Morisson after the latter composed "Moonlight Drive". Later on they were joined by guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore to form The Doors from 1985 to 1973. They released several albums and toured the the whole US.

After The Doors, he also played for several bands including Nite City, Robby Krieger and Roy Rogers.

Ray died after a long battle with bile duct cancer on May 20, 2013.

I recall Manzarek as the father of all keyboardists. Nobody can equal him in terms of keyboard solos especially in the song, "Light My Fire". His creativeness is unparalleled and his diversity in music is very amazing.

I admired his keyboard playing style and how he simply compose music. And its sad that his greatness will only remain in our memories. This is a salute to music's greatest contributor.

Thank you Ray Manzarek for all the music and talent you shared with us all. Now, let the heavens rock! Rest in peace, Ray Manzarek.

Jeff Hanneman

A Guitar Icon Tribute

For many years, I have been listening to several kinds of music including those that some might call "evil". I really appreciate music as long as they are pure and original.

On some days, when I feel I like to bang my head and listen to something heavy, I preferably listen to Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera and Slayer. Once their music is on, I turn up the volume to maximum then bang my head.

Those heavy guitar riffs, excruciating guitar solos and pounding drums plus the dark lyrics and vocals makes me feel revived and reminiscent of my rebel years. And it feels good.

But another guitarist left us behind. And its a great loss to the band and millions of its fans. This is my tribute to a legend...

Jeffrey John Hanneman
1964 - 2013

Jeff Hanneman is one of the guitarist of Slayer. Born in Oakland, California in January 31, 1964, he was influenced by punk music from Dead Kennedys and Johnny Rotten.

Jeff and Kerry King (the other guitarist) formed Slayer in 1981 and the 12 albums were produced and released in the last 32 years. Together, they were ranked #10 on Guitar World's "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Guitarist of All Time",

Jeff died last May 2, 2013 after suffering from liver failure.

I admired Jeff's guitar playing ever since I heard their "Reign In Blood" album. I even worshipped him and Kerry King everytime I listened to their "Seasons In The Abyss" album. I always imitated their styles in guitar playing but they are too great for me.

I remembered playing "Expendable Youth" and "Seasons In The Abyss" when I was still playing the guitar and it was a hell of a time. Although at first, I was having a hard time but eventually, I was able to play it.

So for you, Jeff Hanneman, I salute you for sharing with us your talent. Thank you for all the songs and guitar solos you created. Too bad I was not able to see you perform live here in the Philippines but you will be surely missed. Rest in peace!

Ava Jane Jugueta

Pretty Young Thing

I always like "chinitas". Those beautiful women who have china eyes that goes off when they're smiling or laughing. They call them "asians" in the western countries but I'm glad we came up with our own word for them.

I already featured some chinitas here like Jessica Mendoza (which she confirmed that she is not Chinese though) and Iwa Moto among others.

In this article, I would like to share again another chinita 9MM Girl. She just simply cannot be featured here...

Ava Jane Jugueta

Ava is the lead vocalist for the all girl singing group Pretty Young Thing or PYT. But before joining the group, she was the Grand Champion of GMA7's reality based singing talent search called "Coca Cola Ride To Fame".

Little information has been spread throughout the internet about Ava so I can't really share any other things about her here. Even her pictures are very rare.

But my likeness to her started when I saw her doing hosting chores in one of the noontime shows in Philippine TV. She outwitted the other hosts with her exceptional singing and performance aside from having that oozing appeal and body.

What I like about her most is her eyes and smile. Her "china eyes" are sparkling whenever she makes contact with the camera. Its like she's flirting with you and you can't do anything but watch her.

Her smile is mesmerizing and her body is not to be set aside either. Very tempting for an angelic beauty with a body to die for.

I'm sure her career will move up the ladder because of her professionalism and talent. And I hope I can interview her in the future. What will happen if I get the chance to rub elbows with Ava?

Ritz Azul

Uncoloring The Blue

Blue is one of my favorite colors aside from white, black, gray and red. You can clearly see it in the layout of this blog. In Filipino, blue is translated to either "bughaw" or "asul".

But according to experts, the color blue means sadness or sorrow. As the song goes -- "Bluer than blue", it tells the tale of how to be positive with a broken relationship but still he's heavyhearted.

While were talking about the color and its meaning, our 9MM Girl would not give us any bitterness. Even she has the color in her name...

Ritz Azul

Ritz is a typical Capricorn and was born on Pampanga, Philippines. Her talent was recognized when she won the 4th Final Star of TV5's talent search show, Star Factor. Her acting prowess was showcased in "Nagbabagang Bulaklak" and "Glamorosa".

She is also a Sangguniang Kabataan Chairwoman in her hometown.

In her young career and age, Ritz already won The Entertainment Press Inc. Outstanding Performance by an Actress and Yahoo OMG's Amazing Female Newcomer. I'm sure these awards will multiply in the years to come.

In her first few months of her career as an actress, I already noticed her beauty. She stood out from her competitors and shone for herself. A very naive and kind hearted young girl with an attitude to succeed.

Her eyes are lovely with that chinita look. Her sweet smile would definitely leave a mark to men because it would cut deep in their memory and heart.

As time goes by, she developed an irresistible sexiness that only she can flaunt. Her hips are getting curved and her legs are getting fine and tight. And she's just turned legal. I'm sure she will still be hotter and oozing with appeal in the coming years.

I see to it that when I have time, I make sure and see her glorified bod in those white kamison while making me laugh. I'm talking about her gag show, "Loko Moko U" where she regularly appear.

A long and winding journey will be in front of Ritz' career but I know she can handle it. She is determined and hardworking to reach the top amidst the competition from other actresses that are already ahead of her.

Her future partner would know that he is indeed lucky because you'll have a good package with Ritz Azul. A very intense but meaningful package.

Geneviere "Bong" Pascasio

A Pinoy Rock Icon Tribute

"Wag lang madugong patayan, dahil kaibigan pa rin kita" - Tablahan | Grin Department

Back in the 90's, we were looking for alternative sound to have a change. Mainstream music was too powerful that time, that it lingers to every Filipinos.

Good thing, LA105 and NU107 were there to enlighten us that there are other music to listen to. There were Wolfgang, The Jerks and others that made alternative music so much fun to listen to.

And then another band came and brought us witty and naughty rock songs that tickled the Filipinos. It was The Grin Department. The trio gave us songs like "Tablahan", "Syota Ng Lahat" and "Miss U" that made us gag and sing at the same time.

But recently, I just learned that their vocalist died last year. And this is my tribute to...

Geneviere "Bong" Pascasio

Bong was the vocalist of the 90's band Grin Department. Back in that era, they generated 4 albums with Vicor and with the first 2 releases, gave them platinum sales. Their songs made Pinoy Rock a whole new meaning.. happy and risque.

Last November 10, 2012, Bong succumbed after a long battle with colon cancer. I just learned it this year because of inactivity with my online life.

I recalled when my brother bought their album, I thought that they were just some band trying to get attention with the so called band explosion. But apparently, they were not.

I easily enjoyed their melodies and songs as my brother played their album on cassette tapes. And then later on play them on my guitar. I didn't know it was Bong then because they drawn as caricatures on the album. No images or actual pictures of them printed on the sleeves.

Unfortunately, I was unable to catch them perform live in any gigs that they were invited to. I'm sure Grin Department was a hell of a trip on every gig they were on.

I want to apologize if I were unable to help you when you were in need of donors and sponsors. I wasn't updated with you that time.

So wherever you are, Bong, we are deeply grateful to have listened to your songs. You will be an inspiration to us and to future music makers that not all songs need to be taken seriously.

Rest in peace, brother!

Danica Torres

Ultimate Vixen

Its another year for 9MM-zine and I'm glad to share you everything that I think is cool. If you're gonna back read, I'm going to restructure the theme of this blog. And I'm gonna delve more on the topics I'm interested in.

As you have known, I always pay homage to women. I always admired God's greatest gift to men.

And as an opening salvo, I'm going to share you another hot girl that I want to include in my list of 9MM Girls.

Danica Torres

She was born as a Cancer and lives in Taguig City. She's taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management because according to her, she loves baking and cooking. Her career boosted when her friend photographer dared her to pose on one of his shoots. Then the rest was history.

Danica won the 2012 Premier Vixen among ten other lovely and sexy contestants.

I've been following Danica on several forums and websites for quite some time already and when I first saw her I was smitten by her awesomeness.

Her eyes is truly inviting and it would melt even the fiercest of heart. Her smile is truly a killer and when she does her pouting, she captures men's attention. In my opinion, she's one of those women that has the right to do duckfacing effortlessly.

Her body has been perfectly curved that whatever pose she does in front of the lens, its always a perfect shot. Its as if when God poured sexiness on Earth, she was wide awake to recieve them.

I was able to watch a video of her, lip synching a song and I was mesmerized by her awesomeness. I don't care if she can sing or not but I'm more interested with her beauty.

I also read that Danica is already in a relationship. What a lucky man! If I were him, I'll propose to her and marry her right away. But I'm sure its going to be career first for her. With her career skyrocketing, there's nothing that will stop the magnificent beauty and sexiness of Danica Torres.

What are your thoughts about Danica Torres? Share it with us by leaving a comment below.

Another Blog Reformat

New Year, Another Change

Over the past years, 9MM-zine has been my own personal magazine offering my interests. It paid homage to girls, men, people, music and movies. It reviewed several things that I experienced. It also gave some smart tips and advices I had learned along. And it partially shared some bits of Stone-Cold Angel's life.

But change is the only constant in life. And change is inevitable.

Over the past few weeks, I thought I need a change with this blog. I noticed a drop with my statistics and I feel I should redeem this blog's reputation.

And with this article, I'll be sharing with you my plans and the time line when its gonna happen.

Format And Theme

The physical layout of the blog will not change. Or maybe some of it. But what will change is the theme of it. Basically, it will concentrate more on paying homages to my favorites. Majority of them would be Filipinos.

The articles will center on my favorite topics. First off would be girls. May it be local or foreign. More on celebrities but there would be some models.

There would be articles and tributes about men that I look up to. Those men that influenced me throughout my life. They can be famous men both local and foreign.

The other articles are for music. Both bands and artists that fed my soul. Again, priority would be local but foreign artists are still included.

Movies are also included. Both local and foreign. My list of movies that I would watch before I die.

Fictional characters like those that I would love to draw. Comic characters are my priority but fictional characters that exist in books are also included. All characters would be drawn by the author.

I'm planning to dissolve the reviews and stories but I think I need to keep them in case I need the category. There would be plans of my online comic but I'm sure I can squeeze it here or create another blog for it.

Transfer Of Another Topic

I will be transferring a topic or topics to another blog. My Streetsmart Guides will be on its own so that it will be concentrated and target its own audience. Though I'm still not sure if I'm going to transfer it to Wordpress or Blogger.

Hopefully, it can target its audience precisely.

Time line

These changes will be take in effect immediately. So this year will be quite a busy year for this blog. An article per week is at least my goal to fulfill my obligation to my readers.

The transfer of some articles would be done soon so stay tuned with the changes. Follow this blog's Twitter and like it's Facebook page for updates and news.

I hope these changes would create a big impact with my blogging experience. And especially create a wonderful experience to my readers.

Kapish!
